Advanced GBR: Guided Bone Regeneration

November 8-9, 2025 | In-person & Remote | 16 CE Units

Course Description

Patients with atrophic alveolar bone present with diverse challenges, including vertical vs horizontal atrophy,
flat vs sloped defect walls, and variations in bone density. Each case requires thorough site analysis to select
the appropriate technique, materials, and protocols, considering patient-specific risks and potential complications.

The course covers 3D reconstruction techniques using bone substitutes, osteogenic signals, and growth factors
to ensure effective regeneration. Attendees will learn practical approaches, including regenerative and resective
therapies, risk management, and materials selection, to maximize patient outcomes.

Educational Objectives

  • Classify alveolar ridge deficiencies
  • Assess patient and site risks to guide treatment
  • Select appropriate grafting materials and techniques
  • Integrate regenerative therapies with soft tissue management
  • Understand the biology of wound healing and osteogenesis
  • Apply effective flap designs and suture techniques

Hands-On Workshop

The hands-on workshop offers practical training in advanced bone regeneration techniques, including:

  • Defect selection for resective vs regenerative approaches
  • Implant surface decontamination and grafting materials
  • Flap designs and VISTA tunneling for surgical access
  • Preparation of biologically-based composite bone graft materials
  • Fibrin Immobilization Vestibular Extension (FIVE) for peri-implantitis treatment
