By completing this continuum, participants will:

• Learn the history of anesthesia and pain control.
• Gain knowledge of ADA rules and regulations regarding moderate IV sedation.
• Be equipped to assess patient medical history, medications, and other factors for safe IV sedation.

• Master the principles of airway maintenance during moderate sedation.
• Learn protocols for managing sedation and medical emergencies.

Course Format

The IV Sedation Continuum is structured in four distinct phases for comprehensive learning:

Phase 1: Online Modules

• 65 hours of self-paced study.
• Location: Remote learning.

Phase 2: In-Person Didactic

• 24 hours over 3.5 days (March 13–16).
• Location: Vista Institute (Woodland Hills, CA).

Phase 3: Patient Cases

• 20 clinical cases over 4 days.
• Location: Vesper Institute (Cincinnati, OH).
• Flexible scheduling options available to fit your needs.

Phase 4: Ongoing Support

• Certification guidance to obtain your sedation license.
• Monthly meetings to ensure long-term success and support.
