Soft Tissue Augmentation Around Teeth & Implants Woodland Hills, CA

January 11-12, 2025

In-Person & Remote

Course Description

Periodontal and peri-implant plastic surgeries are integral to addressing esthetic and functional soft tissue deficiencies. These procedures enhance both the appearance and long-term stability of periodontal and peri-implant tissues.
The VISTA (Vestibular Incision Subperiosteal Tunnel Access) protocol stands out as a minimally invasive and scientifically grounded technique, offering predictable outcomes for soft tissue and bone augmentation.
This course delves into the current knowledge of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissue augmentation, emphasizing evidence-based approaches to manage and prevent soft tissue deformities effectively.
Participants will explore the rationale, biology, and techniques underpinning these procedures, supplemented by hands-on workshops and live surgical demonstrations.

Educational Objectives

  • Case Selection:
    • Assess appropriate cases for periodontal and peri-implant plastic surgeries.
  • Protocol Selection:
    • Understand scientific principles of wound healing to guide procedural planning.
  • Material Selection:
    • Compare and apply various grafting materials, including:
      • Autogenous connective tissue grafts (palate vs. tuberosity).
      • Allogenic grafts like AlloDerm.
      • Xenogenic collagen matrices such as Mucograft and FibroGide.
      • Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in liquid and solid forms.
      • Recombinant Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (GEM21).
  • Surgical Techniques:
    • Execute step-by-step VISTA tunnel elevation.
    • Perform VISTA suturing and integrate orthodontic therapy for enhanced periodontal outcomes.
    • Manage complications associated with these procedures.
  • Hands-on Workshops and Live Surgery:
    • Practice techniques in simulated exercises, including:
      • Treatment of multiple gingival recession defects.
      • Peri-implant soft tissue augmentation.
      • Contour augmentation of peri-implant and pontic sites.
      • Preparation and application of PRF.
